Introduction of the Organizer:
College of Forestry, Henan Agricultural University grew out of the forestry major founded in 1912. As one of the superior colleges in HAU, it now has 152 faculty members, including 20 professors, 34 associate professors as well as 78 doctors, and consists of 4 faculties, 1 experimental center, 1 scientific research institution and 9 provincial and ministerial level research and teaching platforms. Moreover, The College of Forestry has 10 undergraduate majors, in particular, it’s forestry and gardening have become national-level specialty, and environmental engineering is a provincial-level specialty currently.
In the past century, the Forestry College has cultivated more than 16,000 undergraduate students and more than 1,300 doctoral and master students. Many alumni have already taken important leadership positions. The college values scientific research and academic communication. In the past 10 years, it has undertaken more than 100 national, provincial and ministerial research projects and has won 2 second prizes for national scientific and technological progress, and 32 second prizes for provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements. For better academic communication, the Forestry College has established friendly relationship with many foreign renowned universities such as Shinshu University, Ohio State University and North Carolina State University etc.
The college has long adhered to the combination of theory and practice. More than 20 teaching and production practice bases have been built throughout the province, among which the Jigongshan agricultural science and education talent training base has become the first national-level practice base of HAU.
Through twists and turns, with hardships and resplendence, the Forestry College has come along over a hundred years’ remarkable journey. In the future, the Forestry College will make every effort to create a new situation for all kinds of work in an all-round way, and make greater contributions to forestry, rural revitalization and ecological civilization construction in Henan Province.
